I've not had anything to majorly report! All has been quiet over the winter though there has been some changes and a kind of new addition which i'll get onto! :P Ill do a series of blogs so i can make sure it all goes neatly into the categories...darn you OCD *shakes fist!*
Bad news first they say!
Sadly the two eggs unexpected eggs didn't make it, reason unknown >.<
I experienced denting of the eggs on day 63 and concluded that this was down to the central heating now being used and therefore drying the humidity quicker. Bit of spag moss and increase of sprays solved it and they plumped right back up again within the week! But alas the issues were not over and they failed to hatch.
What i've learned from this?
I shan't be using eco earth as a medium for this year and have already ordered pearlite in advance.
I shan't be using a tube with ANY ventilation next (incase the tube i used this year aided somewhat with the lose of humidity).
And i'll be using an incubator for a better temp range as i have a feeling that room temp over winter could of contributed.
FINALLY! No more panicking and just ignore them...who knows, in my excitement *I* may of been the reason with my faffing :( either way, new start, take it on board and start a fresh with a new more full proof plan this year!!
For the purpose of those wanting an idea of eggs size when laid i'll add a couple of pictures for you.
Now on to all the good news and little things!
