Now...I've seen these mentioned more than few times on various groups and forums, so i thought i'd add my take and what i know of them to cyber space! this is all personal opinion and of course, everybody will have a different view which we are all entitled too.
When i first heard of these little *treats* i had only just got my gang and let me tell you now....not much was known about them! Nobody could find an ingredients list for love nor money! I even asked in my local reptile shop who stocked them...and they couldn't find it either!
Now i don't know about you, but i wasn't going to feed something i had no information on to my wee amigos.
A few months on and FINALLY the list went up! and it only enforced my stance that these Jelly pot *treats* were NOT suitable for fruit eating lizards AT ALL!
Ingredients:
R.O. Water, Sugar, Fructose,
Seaweed Extract, Amino Acid, Fruit Juice,
Citric Acid, Sodium Citrate,
Natural Flavors, (Titanium Dioxide, Ti02)
FD&C (Caramel Color) (E129) (E102) (E110) (E133)
What people need to remember is that these Jellies were originally engineered to give to feeders NOT reptiles, they have become a recent trend within the reptile community and one i personally would love to see live a short life!
If you want to give your favorite wee man a treat then look at some great homemade recipes! Blitz various safe fruits together, maybe even a small drizzle of honey and freeze in an ice-cube tray so you have nice individual portions. Walla! great little treats that can be defrosted quickly.....best bit? you KNOW whats in them, and its not that crap listed above!
Got loads left over? no problem! pour into ice lolly mold, stick a stick in and also have a fun, homemade treat for the kids...or yourself!
Anyway! Thats MY take on these supposed treats!
